Wednesday Racing Tips for Cambridge 19/8/26

BEST BET – Rima Rua Toru

In the second race on the card it looks tricky to look beyond the chances of the top three which is led by Rima Rua Toru. Having won well on debut here, there could be even more improvement to come. The form has been franked and he sets the standard.

BEST BET – Incredible Patch

Our best bet of the day comes in the sixth race of the card where Incredible Patch will hope to build on a highly promising debut where the Shane Crawford horse finished second. Having missed the break, he flew home late and was unlucky not to have won. With that experience now behind him, better things can be expected.

THE DANGER – Perfect Dividends

Perfect Dividends could be the danger but could be vulnerable to a few improvers. Hugely experienced, he has five wins from twenty-two starts with two of those victories coming here. He ran poorly last time out but connections will hope he gets back on track with another good run here.

THE DANGER – Last Wish

In comparison to Incredible Patch, Last Wish has had one more run and it could be that the penny is starting to drop. A debut sixth was bettered by a third next time out. Whilst he looks to have something to show with the favourite he could be the best alternative.

VALUE BET – Final Applause

Final Applause could be the value play of the race. Having run poorly on his first two starts, a move to Scott Wenn’s yard seems to have worked wonders as he won on his stable debut here. That form stacks up well and he could be dangerous here.

Wind Seeker

The value could lie with Wind Seeker. Having placed in two of his last three starts at this sort of level, his price looks to be on the big side and he has the ability to upset the market principles here.

BEST BET – Above The CloudsNavy Ensign

There are several horses that could win this, but Above The Clouds is the one we fancy. He boasts a tremendous record here having won four times from eight starts. Although he won’t start as the favourite, his chances have to be respected, and he can run a big run here.Having had four attempts to try and get off the mark, it could be a case of fifth time lucky for Navy Ensign. Having placed second in all four career starts, connections will hope that this is finally where he pokes his head in front. Conditions should suit and a bold run is expected.

THE DANGER – Did The TrickSister Cynane

Although Mulan Ardeche will be the market favourite, we think the main danger could come from Did The Trick. Having not shown a tonne of form recently, he bounced back well to win here last week, and that form has subsequently been boosted since. That win was his first visit to the track and it's clear he likes it here; he should give another bold showing.

The main danger in a muddling race looks to be Sister Cynane. Having placed in five of her seven starts she is another looking to break her duck. A front runner she will be the pace angle and with not much in behind, once she gets going she could be hard to peg back.

VALUE BET – Zee HeightsMerini

Zee Heights has made 26 starts which has only produced one win, however that win did come last time out, and connections will be hoping for a quick follow up. There is no guarantee of a repeat here, but his most recent form is hard to ignore.

There are several players at the prices, but a chance could be taken on Merini. Having placed fourth on debut, there could be more to come and she is definitely worth a market check.

It could be argued that the seventh race of the day is the most competitive and there are several horses who can win. Subiaco is our best bet for the race. He boasts a great record here having won twice here from three starts. Having been drawn on the rail, he should be well positioned and can give another good account of himself here.

In the final race of the day Cease and Desist will hope to send punters home happy. Having just raced four times, his last two runs have been hugely encouraging with a victory coming in his last start at Matamata. This won’t take a huge amount of winning and he could well follow up here.

THE DANGER – El Speedy Man

When it comes to the stats, very few in this race can match El Speedy Man. Boasting a 33% win rate and a 67% place rate, he usually gives his backers a good run for their money. He has done the bulk of his racing here, resulting in two wins and two placed efforts from five runs. He should be in the mix once again.

THE DANGER – Tomahawk

Another last time out winner was Tomahawk. Having just made the three starts so far, he has improved with each and every run and was a good winner when last seen at Waverley. Clearly unexposed, this could be right in his wheelhouse and another victory could be close.

VALUE BET – Meglio Di FalcrestBassaroc

Our long shot of the day is Meglio Di Falcrest. Although it's been over a year since his last win he has been running well of late and has placed in five of his last six. He hasn’t run here before, but if he takes to the track and the conditions he could be in the mix.

Our long shot of the day is Bassaroc. Whilst a leap of faith is required, he has won twice at this distance and showed signs of life when finishing third last time out. Plenty more is needed but if things fall right he could be a player at a big price.
