Quick Analysis:

After back-to-back wins at Warwick Farm and then Canterbury, Hello Captain ended up finishing fourth last time out at Randwick, but was only 0.44L off the page. I think barrier seven actually works well for him, so he can get some cover on the inside before peeling off. The 3YO also gets a 2kg weight relief thanks to apprentice jockey, Siena Grima.

I think Within The Law can pop in a bounce-back performance here after finishing middle of the pack in the Group 1, Tattersall's Tiara. She’s back to racing against her own age, and with just 55kg on her back, it’s clear to see why she’s the favourite. I reckon the $2.20 is still a smidge of value, so get that price while you still can.

I’m in Flemington for my final best bet of the day, and I have my eye on Lucky Lucky Boom, who is almost at each-way odds. The gelding has been racing at Flemington for his last three races, which does include a second placing last time out, also on a Heavy-rated track. He’ll only have 54kg on his back as well, and from barrier five, he can go one better today.

Stats and Insights

  • Leg Drive resumed with an impressive win at Toowoomba and draws to enjoy a perfect run from barrier one. He looks well placed to score again in Race 5 at the Gold Coast.
  • Like Clockwork hit the line strongly last start at Belmont and looks suited stepping up to 2,000 metres. She looks capable of proving too strong in Race 7 at Belmont.
  • Call Me Mojo was narrowly beaten at Hawkesbury last start after winning earlier this preparation at Canberra. He looks ready to go one better in Race 8 at Wyong.
