Quick Analysis:

It’s hard for me to see anyone beating the favourite, Dunstall The Gun, here, especially from barrier one. The gelding is currently riding a hat-trick of top-three finishes, and I think this is the perfect opportunity for him to grace the winner’s stall once again. He drops quite significantly in weight as well, with only 54kg on his back this time out, thanks to apprentice jockey Nick Palmer.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Tamworth for my second best bet of the day. Oakfield Utah, was one of my best bets for June 28, but the gelding was scratched in that race. I’ve been following him since then to see where he would pop up next, and it turns out that's in Tamworth! He gets back to non-metro grade for this one, and this looks a lot easier than last time out. The 3YO broke his maiden here, and he can make it two from two at the track.

Quick Analysis:

In the last race of the day at Goulburn, I have my eye on Olington Lane. He’s another that I’ve had an eye on for a while, tipping him back on June 19, at Moruya, where he finished third, by just 0.6L. This is a bigger field, and it looks slightly more difficult than the type of races he has been in recently. He is, however, a recent winner here at Goulburn and does get a 2kg weight relief.

Stats and Insights

  • Summit drops back to non-metro company and comes from a stable renowned for placing its runners well. He looks ideally placed to take out Race 6 at Ipswich.
  • Zeyno has been racing well this prep and represents a stable that excels with staying types. She looks capable of breaking through at virtually each-way odds in Race 6 at Moe.
  • Ardie Three has made an excellent start to his career and draws to get every chance again. He looks ready to stamp himself as the runner to beat in Race 9 at Ipswich.
