It's Jagger Time has to carry the top weight, but I think he can still get the job done. After third second placings in a row, all of them by a 1L or less he’s due for a win today. He also draws wide but has some decent speed out of the barrier, so I’m not too concerned about that.

Heading to Bowen now, and Livewire Lass is the one to beat in this small field. She gets the blinkers back on for this race, which I think will make all the difference. She comes into this one second up and she’ll be fitter for that run under her belt, so expect some improvement from her here.

In the last race of the day at Mudgee, I’m sticking with the favourite. There’s been a few scratchings so the field is small enough now. Bolo Miss has been pretty good so far this prep, with a win and multiple placings so far. Compared to this field, she looks head and shoulders above the rest.

Stats and Insights

  • Mr Markle has been consistent this prep and can improve on the latest run. He looks the marginal top pick in Race 4 at Mornington.
  • Excenia finished strongly first-up and has consistently performed when well supported in betting. She looks well placed in Race 6 at the Sunshine Coast.
