Quick Analysis:

I like the look of Ivy Legend in Race 5 today at Gosford. The Chris Waller-trained runner hasn’t done much this prep, but finished last prep with a second and a win at Wyong. Tommy Berry takes over in the saddle, and the pair draw wide. If the track isn’t too chopped up by Race 5, I think wide may be the place to be. It’s a pretty open field, so we’re picking up great value for the mare as well.

Quick Analysis:

Heading over to Casino now, I think Dreamwriter can get one over Zavega, who is the other favourite for this one. The mare draws wide, but brings good form into this one, including a first, second, and third. Her second and third both came at less than 0.5L to the leader! The Heavy-rated track is a bit of a query, but I just can’t look past her considering her recent form.

Quick Analysis:

Wrapping up today with Uxorious, who is currently going around as the favourite at $1.85. That’s not exactly a lot of value, but I can’t make a case for any other runner in this one. The gelding was impressive, breaking his maiden the second time of asking. He led for pretty much the entire race and ended up winning by just over a 1L. Brayden Gaerth sticks with him, and they draw better than last time.

Stats and Insights

  • Scialla has never missed a place in four career starts and has already won twice. Her consistency makes her a major player despite the wide draw in Race 6 at Mackay.
  • Sunnycoast has an excellent record at Mackay and looks ideally placed back at a track where he does his best racing. He rates as the one to beat in Race 8 at Mackay.
  • Set Me Loose was impressive, breaking her maiden at Yarra Valley and has finished in the placings in both career starts. She looks the one to beat in Race 8 at Seymour.
