Quick Analysis:

Plenty of live chances in the 2026 Mildura Cup, but I do have my eye on Fine Future. The barrier draw isn’t the best, but the gelding has had a good prep so far, including a couple of wins and a fourth placing at Group 3 level. Dean Yendall takes over in the saddle, and the distance looks much more suitable. He’ll be right in there at the finish, and at each-way odds as well.

Quick Analysis:

Romanticism is tackling this one first up, and we haven’t seen the filly since March, but she’s had a tick over trial since then. She’s already a winner here at this track, and regular rider, Pierre Boudvillain, sticks with the 3YO. I think the $4.40 we’re getting is pretty good value, and I’d expect that to shorten as we get closer to the jump, so get while the going is good.

Quick Analysis:

My last best bet of the day comes in the last race at Tamworth, and I’m looking at Speck to get the job done. The mare has finished in the top two in 10 of her 18 career starts. Last time out, she went down here at this track and trip by the finest of margins (0.01L). She has won at Tamworth previously, and I don’t think the rise in class will be too difficult for her to tackle.

  • Moochi Starlight was an impressive winner at Rockhampton last start and has drawn the inside barrier to enjoy a perfect run. She looks the one to beat in Race 3 at Mackay.
  • Highborn Harry backs up quickly after his latest run and has drawn perfectly to secure every chance. He looks a leading contender in Race 4 at Goulburn.
  • Line 'Em Up Loui comes off an impressive victory at Mackay and has been in outstanding form this preparation. He looks capable of proving too strong in Race 8 at Mackay.
