Quick Analysis:

Kicking things off today in Albury, and while there are a few live chances in this one, I like the look of Gaelic Gem. The filly was a dominant winner last time out at Sapphire Coast, leading for the entire race. The 3YO has placed (or won) in all three runs so far this prep. She gets a great draw for this one, and jockey Jean Van Overmeire sticks with her as well.

Quick Analysis:

Switching over to Gosford now, and the one I’ll be on is Real Baker. This gelding is lightly raced, but that’s right up Bjorn Baker’s alley. He broke his maiden on his first time of trying at Orange, and was then back to the trials (where he has back-to-back wins). He’s another that draws well, and jockey Regan Bayliss will have a lot of options from barrier two.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Gosford for the last of the day, and I like the look of Just Awesome. The colt is coming off a great win last time out at Kembla Grange, over the same distance he lines up for here. He is currently one of the favourites for this one, but I think there’s still a bit of value in the $3.80 we are getting. He will need to overcome the wide draw, but he has the speed to do so.

Stats and Insights

  • Bold Change has been ultra consistent this prep with four placings from five runs and gets the winkers back on. He looks a leading contender in Race 4 at Mackay.
  • Treasureflight resumed with a modest effort at Ballarat and has shown ability second-up previously. He commands respect in Race 5 at Pakenham.
  • Sky God placed at Albany last start and has already won at the track this prep. He looks a major player and can surprise at decent odds in Race 7 at Albany.
