Quick Analysis:

Starting the day in Moruya, and Olington Lane is still good enough value in my eyes. The gelding is currently the narrow favourite, and he has been performing quite well this prep. He kicked things off with back-to-back wins in the Sapphire Coast and Goulburn, but didn’t fire last time out. That was on a Heavy-rated track, and I think he’ll redeem himself today, especially with Pierre Boudvillain back on board.

Quick Analysis:

On My Command is the heavy favourite, and I really can’t see anyone in this field even getting close to her. With just three career starts under her belt, this looks a smidge easier than what she’s been racing in for the last two runs. She snags barrier four, and with scratchings (at the time of writing) will take her in one more, to barrier three. I’d be happier if it stays in the Good range.

Quick Analysis:

In the last race of the day at Geelong, I’ll be on Whiskey Joe. The colt returns from a spell and has been performing well at the trials in the meantime. He has a career record of 3:1-1-1, and the blinkers go on for the first time, which I think will make a big difference. My only concern is the barrier draw, which pops him right in the middle of this field, but the $4.00 on offer is too hard to pass up.

  • Spiritof The Ocean returned with a placing at Toowoomba and drops back to non-metro company here. She can give the favourite a run for its money in Race 5 at Rockhampton.
  • Weapons Hot was only narrowly beaten at Carnarvon last start and now drops back to a more suitable trip. He gets a great chance to return to winning form in Race 7 at Carnarvon.
  • Inca Trail has been racing consistently this prep and already boasts a win at Rockhampton. He gets a great chance to add another victory in Race 8 at Rockhampton.
