Kicking things off today in Race 1 at Sapphire Coast with Casino Shaw. The mare broke her maiden here at this track and trip. She followed up that win with back-to-back second placings, and now comes back to Sapphire Coast again. Drawing barrier one only helps her chances, and Amy McLucas, who has been on board for the last six runs, saddles up again.

Heading over to Ararat now, and there are a lot of live chances, but I do like the look of Hydrogen Power. He presents decent enough value, currently going around the $4.80 mark. After just missing out last time out at Swan Hill by 0.12L, I think he can grace the winner’s stall once again. Dean Yendall sticks with him, and he is good enough to overcome the equal-heaviest weight.

For the last of the day at Grafton, I’ll be on Beearetee. The gelding is one of the more favoured runners in this one and is a recent winner here at this track. That win also came on a Soft-rated track, and his last two runs have been here at Grafton. Jett Newman has been on board for the last two runs, and he saddles up again, jumping from barrier six.

Stats and Insights

  • Champagne Rouge has two wins from nine runs this campaign and placed at long odds last start at Doomben. She looks well placed to run another big race in Race 5 at Grafton.
  • Star Bling has two wins from eight runs this campaign and was solid without luck last start at Albury. She looks ready to bounce back into contention in Race 6 at Sapphire Coast.
  • Sabertooth was a winner first-up this prep and now gets the blinkers on for the first time. He looks a serious contender at decent odds in Race 7 at Ararat.
