Starting the day in Eagle Farm, and I think About To Explode can get the job done at a fairly reasonable price. The gelding is one of three favoured runners in the market, and he brings winning form to this race. Last time out, he won here at Eagle Farm over the same trip. As long as he can get clear air at the right time, he’ll be in this up to his eyeballs.

Quick Analysis:

Found a little bit of value with Sea What I See. I’ll be taking her for the win in this big field, but you can play it safe on an each-way or place bet. She tackles this one third up and has been going close in Group company without getting the win. So far this prep, she’s finished second and third, both runs less than a length to the leader. It’s her time to shine in this one.

Quick Analysis:

For the Doncaster Mile, my money’s on the favourite, Sheza Alibi. She’ll be flying with just 49kg on her back, and that’s what really tipped me over the edge for her. She’s looking for a hat-trick of wins here after claiming the Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes first up, and then the Group 1 Randwick Guineas last time out. She does draw wide, but that won’t bother a class runner like Sheza Alibi.

Stats and Insights

  • Hot Digity Boom was narrowly beaten last start at Morphettville Parks and has a win earlier this prep at Cranbourne. He looks ready to run another big race at decent odds in Race 3 at Caulfield.
  • Campione D’italia produced an outstanding run in the Golden Slipper, charging home from near last to finish fourth. The rise to 1,400m looks ideal, and he gets every chance from the draw in Race 6 at Randwick.
  • Joliestar is chasing a hat-trick after back-to-back wins at Randwick and has kept up to the mark with a recent trial. She looks a very strong winning chance in Race 7 at Randwick.
