Quick Analysis:

I can’t see anyone other than the favourite, Zelestial, winning this one at Taree. The mare comes into this one in winning form after taking out the race in Dubbo. Goes from a BM58 to a BM66, but based on what I’ve seen so far, I think she will get the job done again. She gets 3kgs off her back for this one, mainly thanks to apprentice jockey Deon Le Roux.

Quick Analysis:

There are a couple of live chances in this one, but I do have to side with Sir Franklin. The gelding boasts some strong form coming into this clash, including a recent win at Goulburn. He finished fourth first-up at Randwick, and I think we can expect natural improvement second-up (where his record is 2 1-1-0). He is good enough to overcome the top weight.

Quick Analysis:

Last but not least, I have Punch One Out as the one to beat in Race 6 at Taree. He is another one that’s coming into this race with some consistent form, and he still presents a tad of value around the $3.80 mark. He maps well from the kind draw, with a lot of options from barrier five. Jockey Grant Buckley, who was onboard last start, sticks with the 4YO here.

Stats and Insights

  • Rock The Sunrise finished midfield at Gold Coast first-up and has blinkers coming off for the first time. He looks well placed to take Race 4 at Warwick.
  • Wazing impressed with a win at her only start at Ballarat and has since trialled well. She looks the one to beat in Race 6 at Ballarat.
  • Lady Thinkabell broke her maiden at Kyneton last start and comes from a strong stable. She looks set for back-to-back victories in Race 8 at Ballarat.
