With the scratching of Treasurethe Moment, I’m leaning more towards Pride Of Jenni for the All-Star Mile. There will be no prizes for the race tactics we’ll likely see with the 8YO, and at around the $3.20 mark, there’s still some value in her. With back-to-back trial wins, trainer Ciaron Maher seems to have her humming, and drawing barrier two makes her job a lot easier.

Heading to Randwick now for the Group 1 Randwick Guineas, and I’m siding with Autumn Boy. Autumn Boy has been all class in his short career so far, and is already a Group 1 winner in the Caulfield Guineas during the 2025 Spring Racing Carnival. Jockey James McDonald sticks with him after the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes, and the rise up to 1,600m suits.

I like the look of Facundo for the last of the day at Eagle Farm. There are a lot of live chances in this one, so we’re getting $4.80 right now for the gelding, which presents great value in my eyes. The 4YO comes into this one second-up after finishing in the middle of the field at Eagle Farm over the same distance. He draws better in this one and tends to perform better in second-up runs.

Stats and Insights

  • Zambales has placed in two of three runs this preparation at metro level and comes from the strong Anthony and Sam Freedman stable. He looks a leading contender in Race 6 at Flemington.
  • Last Command has won at Eagle Farm and placed twice this prep. He looks well-suited in this company and is the one to beat in Race 6 at Eagle Farm.
