One career race, one career win, and the Waterhouse/ Bott-trained gelding, Farindira, is into a Group 3. Farindira won dominantly last time out, by 2.63L, and he led all the way. This one will likely be on a Heavy-rated track, but if he can handle the conditions, he’ll be in this one up to his eyeballs. He has the raw talent to get the job done.

I have to side with the favourite at Doomben today in Race 5 with True Amor coming into this one in some pretty good form. This prep has been spaced out nicely and features a second placing at both Gosford and Gold Coast. Finished 3L off the pace last time out, but has been back at the trials since, and performed well. A major winning chance.

Quick Analysis:

Loud Charlie looks good enough to get the job done today at Caulfield. He couldn’t do much in the Group 3 Hayes Stakes last time out after missing the start. This is a fairly significant drop in class, and going off his run at Sandown, he should be good enough to win this one. The $3.25 we are getting is decent enough value, so get while the going is good!

  • Mr Independent broke through for a deserved maiden win at Pakenham last start and now rises in grade with confidence. He looks capable of going on with it in Race 2 at Caulfield.
  • Abraham broke through with a strong maiden win at Doomben and has been consistent when well supported. He looks capable of going back-to-back in Race 3 at Doomben.
  • Suit Of Armour has an excellent record when sent out favourite and finds a race that looks within his reach. He shapes as the one to beat in Race 6 at Warwick Farm.
