Quick Analysis:

We’ve got a field of just eight runners for this one, and my money’s on the favourite, Oohlalouvre, to take it out. The mare comes into this one fresh, and we haven’t seen her race since January, where she went down as the favourite by 0.53L. She’s had two recent tick-over trials and should be ready to fire. With a first-up record of 3:0-2-1, this looks like the perfect time to notch up the win.

This one looks like a two-horse race on paper, but I do like the look of Nicereine. We’ve already seen a couple of scratchings, so there are only nine runners in this one as at the time of writing. Nicereine was so close last time out, finishing just 0.86L off the leader in second at Sale. That was on a Heavy track, and he draws better for this one as well. He is good enough to claim his second career win.

Quick Analysis:

At around the $4.50 mark, I reckon Ellismayne presents a bit of value. This is quite an open race, with plenty of live chances, but Ellismayne does draw well. This is the perfect chance for the gelding to redeem himself after going down as the favourite last time out at Canberra Acton, by just 0.93L. Coriah Keatings steps into the saddle this time out.

Stats and Insights

  • Door Buster was an impressive last-start winner at Kalgoorlie and boasts an excellent record at the track. She looks the runner to beat in Race 5 at Kalgoorlie.
  • Miss Rebel has an outstanding record at Muswellbrook, and recent trial form suggests she is ready to fire first-up. She looks well placed to perform well at big odds in Race 6 at Muswellbrook.
  • The Big Freeze has been racing consistently this preparation with two wins and a last-start placing at Alice Springs. He can pop up there at each-way odds in Race 6 at Alice Springs.
