Quick Analysis:

Chris Waller and James McDonald team up once again with Maybe Moet. JMac was onboard the mare last time out at Canterbury in mid-February, which resulted in a win by almost 3L. She ran the second-fastest last 600m and 400m of the card in that race. This race is just 50m shorter in distance than that one. While Southern Heiress may give her a run for her money, I like that Maybe Moet draws the rails.

Quick Analysis:

Castello Grande is tackling this one second up and will strip fitter for that run under his belt. First up, he raced at Doomben, and now he drops back to non-metro class. Looking at this field, I don’t see anyone giving him a real run for his money. Gets a weight advantage over many of his rivals, and jockey Vlad Duric sticks.

2. Stage ‘N’ Screen

Quick Analysis:

Heading to Cranbourne very late in the day now, I like the look of Stage ‘N’ Screen in the last race on the card. The mare gets a 2kg weight advantage thanks to apprentice jockey Logan Bates. The 4YO narrowly missed out last race also at Cranbourne, finishing third, just 0.8L off the pace. Steps up in trip which looks suitable.

  • Storm Capital returns from a six-week break, and his last two results were back-to-back third placings. He looks ready to take out Race 5 at Townsville.
  • Tartan Tiger has placed in both runs this prep and was narrowly beaten when heavily backed last start at Orange. She looks set to go one better in Race 5 at Goulburn.
  • Jade Trees powered away to break his maiden at Coffs Harbour last start and should strip fitter for that effort. He looks the one to beat in Race 8 at Ballina.
