Kicking today off with The Stars Align. The gelding is chasing a hat-trick of wins today, with victories at both Nowra and Canberra. He was slow out of the gates last time out, carrying the top weight, but he clicked into gear and ended up winning by over 2L. This is a BM66, and naturally looks harder, but he is more than up for the challenge.

So the $1.90 price that we’re currently getting for Bruce I Am doesn’t exactly scream value, but he’d be a good anchor for multis or other exotic plays. He broke his maiden the first time of asking here at Wyong, and the step up to 1,100m is well within reach. He was the favourite in that one as well, and it’s hard to see anyone else really challenging him here.

We’re getting good enough odds around Upstage, so I’m willing to take a chance on the filly. After back-to-back second placings this prep, she finally notched up her maiden win at Pakenham. She’s only missed the placings once so far in her career, and jockey Daniel Stackhouse retains the ride. With just 57.5kg on her back, she’ll go close.
