Quick Analysis:

Kicking the day off in Hobart, and I like the look of Megalita, who comes into this one in some good form. The gelding has a recent win and second placing (by just 0.75L) under her belt, both at Devonport Synthetic. He draws barrier one, which puts him over the edge in my eyes. Jockey Kelvin Sanderson sticks, and the pair are good enough to overcome the weight.

Quick Analysis:

In Cranbourne now, and it’s hard to go past Alien Angel. The 4YO does draw wide for this one, but with rain about, wide may be the place to be later in the day. She broke her maiden last time out at this track, and the extra 100m she tackles in this one shouldn’t be of any concern. When racing against her own sex, she’s certainly good enough to win this.

Quick Analysis:

I reckon I’ve found a value play in the last today at Canterbury. Conchiero is currently going around at the $7.00 mark, which is a great each-way price. The gelding put in a good effort last time out, finishing third at Kensington, and he gets another crack at BM72 level. He’ll need some breaks at the right time from the wide barrier, but he’ll take advantage of it if he gets them.

Stats and Insights

  • Sharpassa was only narrowly beaten first-up at Northam and looks well placed back in metro company. She can go one better in Race 4 at Belmont.
  • Tam Na Ghar resumes after a break and has looked sharp with a recent trial placing. She can pop up there at almost double-digit odds in Race 7 at Doomben.
  • Collated should strip fitter after his latest run and has scope to improve second-up. He can work into the finish in Race 8 at Murray Bridge.
