Kicking things off with Sir Herridah at Muswellbrook. The gelding is the clear favourite, and while there’s not a lot of value around him, it’s hard for me to see anyone else winning this one. He broke his maiden last time out while jumping from a wide barrier. With a career record of 3:1-0-2 so far, he’s good enough to overcome this field.

Quick Analysis:

Switching to Rosehill now, and I’ll be on Bev’s Nine for Race 5. The gelding is a perfect five from five so far in his career. This includes a win at this track and trip first up this prep. He backed that win up with another win last time out in Canterbury, over the same distance. James McDonald retains the ride, and they should be able to get the job done again.

Quick Analysis:

For my final best bet of the day, I’ll be on Sister Shay. Basically half the field has already been scratched, and the market isn’t really sure who is going to win this one, which means there’s value to be found. Sister Shay comes into this one second up, where she holds a record of 2:1-1-0, and she gets a weight relief thanks to apprentice jockey Sarah Field.

Stats and Insights

  • Vermilion Kirin is coming off a strong win at Beaudesert on a soft track and should find the lead from a good draw. He looks the one they all have to beat in Race 6 at Ipswich.
  • Wrathful placed last start at Kensington and has been consistent at metro level this prep. He looks a strong chance to get the win in Race 6 at Rosehill.
  • Hard Leaf is coming off a win at Oakbank and represents a strong stable. He looks a key contender again in this field at big odds in Race 7 at Oakbank.
