Quick Analysis:

I don’t usually like tipping in maidens, but I really do like the look of Kharif for the first race today at Wyong. He raced on debut at Muswellbrook as the favourite last time out and couldn’t finish in the top three. We’ll see some natural improvement for this one, and I think the mile is a more ideal distance. Adam Hyeronimus takes over in the saddle, which is a massive plus.

Staying in Wyong for my second best bet of the day. Johnny hasn’t exactly been kind to punters recently, but I’m a lover of giving a runner another chance. He was one of the more favoured runners last time out, but only managed a third place. He does get a weight relief for this one and draws barrier two. He can redeem himself here.

Quick Analysis:

Wrapping things up in the last today at Ipswich with Braveheart. Yet another last start favourite that I think is ready to redeem himself. He was narrowly beaten last time out at Doomben, finishing second by just 0.53L. The gelding steps down to a non-metro, and while Ivantheinvincible may give him a run for his money, I think Braveheart has the class to get the win.

Stats and Insights

  • Royal Honour has been placed in all three career starts and looks close to breaking through. He rates as a leading contender in Race 4 at Pakenham.
  • Renovation Show was dominant in a last-start win at Albany and looks to have plenty of upside. He can go on with the job here in Race 5 at Albany.
  • Garnacho should improve second-up and gets out to a more suitable distance. He shapes as a genuine danger at a value price in Race 8 at Pakenham.
