From the gun draw, my money’s on Nirmata. The 4YO is chasing a hat-trick of wins today, after back-to-back victories in Tamworth. He gets the services of Aaron Bullock for this one, which tips him over the edge for me. We haven’t seen him run on a Heavy-rated track yet, but from barrier one, they’ll have a lot of options on where to go.

Staying in Muswellbrook for my next best bet of the day. The mare comes into this one in some serious form, including a win four runs back, plus last time out in Scone (on a Heavy-rated track, as well!). Aaron Bullock was on board for that win, and unsurprisingly, he sticks with the 5YO here. I’m surprised she isn’t a little shorter, so get while the going is good!

I reckon Bide Your Time can get the better of the heavy favourite in Canberra today. The gelding was at this track and trip last time out, and he finished second, 1.22L off the leader. He draws a little wider this time out, but drops a lot of weight compared to last time. Rochelle Wedrat-Kroezen, who was on board last time, saddles up again. They can go one better here.
