Quick Analysis:

Lancetta gets absolutely no favours with the wide draw, but I still can’t see any of the others winning this one. The mare kicked off this prep with a decent third placing at this track and trip, by just 0.65L. With that run under her belt, hopefully she’ll learn from her mistakes and settle a bit earlier into the race and wait for the right chance to pounce down the straight.

Quick Analysis:

Heading to Albury now, and I like the look of Just Like Liam in Race 5. There are a couple of live chances in this one, so we’re getting decent enough value at the $3.10 mark. The gelding is going for the hat-trick of wins after scoring at this track and trip in his last two runs in June. Both those wins also came at this level (BM58), and he draws slightly better this time as well.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Albury for my final best bet of the day with Risky Whisky. With the gelding currently going around the $3.80 mark, I still think there’s some value to be had. He has been racing pretty well so far this prep, and is a last-start winner at Bairnsdale. Gets back to 900m here, which I don’t think will be an issue, even from the wide-ish barrier.

  • Ahab has been racing consistently at Ballarat Synthetic, winning two starts back before another strong placing last time out. He looks the runner to beat in Race 5 at Ballarat Synthetic.
  • Hot Toddy is chasing a hat-trick after back-to-back wins at Wagga and has drawn the inside barrier to enjoy every chance. He looks the one they all have to catch in Race 6 at Albury.
  • It Matters is well drawn and has already won this prep, making her a top selection. She looks the runner to beat in Race 9 at Ballarat Synthetic.
