Quick Analysis:

Kicking off the day in Swan Hill with Shining Smile. The 3YO does carry the top weight, but gets 1.5kg shaved off thanks to apprentice jockey Brittany Button. He hasn’t exactly been in the best of form, but he does bring a class factor and is more than capable of putting it all together. From barrier three, he can get the job done.

I think that Zouking can get the best of At Her Mercy here, who’s currently the favourite. The gelding is a speedy runner and can do a lot from barrier six. Take the 4YO to win or each-way if you want to play it safe. We haven’t seen him since January, but he has had two great May trials, both with Rory Hutchings on board, who saddles up today as well.

Ending the day in the Sapphire Coast, and I think that Will The Thinker has some decent value, going around at the $4.40 mark. He has been racing well in his short career so far, with a current record of 4:1-1-1. He broke his maiden last time out at Nowra across virtually the same distance he races in today. He is capable of going on with it again here.

  • Sh'bourne Midnight resumes after a short break and boasts a strong record at Hobart. With proven class, he looks the one to beat in Race 4 at Hobart.
  • Spangledstar draws ideally and has already won at Kalgoorlie this preparation. From the inside gate, she looks the one to beat in Race 4 at Kalgoorlie.
