Kicking the day off in Scone with Too Darn Finesse. It’s a very open field, which is why we’re picking up such great value for the filly. She won here at Scone on debut and was good last time out at Newcastle, without being great. I think she’ll enjoy the slightly longer distance, and drawing barrier one is a massive plus. Andrew Gibbons sticks as well.

Forever With Ned tackles this one third-up after a sixth and a third placing to kick off this prep. Last time out, she was just 0.85L off the leader at Stawell. The money has already started coming for the 4YO, and she comes in well at the weights. It wouldn’t surprise me to see her shorten even further, so jump on while you still can.

In the last today at Donald, I have to stick with the favourite. Now, the $1.70 we’re currently getting for Paddypie doesn’t scream value odds, but he’s one to add to exotics or a multi. He comes into this one in some great form, and he broke his maiden on the first time of asking at Seymour. Billy Egan is on board once again, and they’re good enough to overcome the wide draw.

  • Shogun Express has been kept ticking over with a recent trial and comes from the powerful Patrick Payne stable. He can pop up there at double-digit odds in Race 5 at Donald.
  • Ocean Tsunami drops back to non-metro company after a solid first-up placing and looks very well suited here. She shapes as the one to beat in Race 6 at Scone.
  • Jagerschnitzel resumed with a strong placing at Scone and looks well-suited stepping up in distance. He appears the one to beat in Race 8 at Scone.
