Quick Analysis:

Kicking things off today at Hawkesbury with Commanding Artist. The gelding was close last time out, finishing second by just 0.8L at Kembla Grange. Jockey Jay Ford sticks with him here, and he gets a much better draw. He’s got the top weight, which is why we’re getting around $5.00 for him, but he is good enough to overcome that.

Quick Analysis:

Switching to Terang now, and I like the look of Golden Flame, who is currently the favourite for Race 6. The mare backed up her trial form, with two placings from two runs so far this prep. She sticks with a BM56, and I reckon this could be the third time’s the charm. Linda Meech remains on board, and they have the lightest weight of the race.

Quick Analysis:

For my final best bet of the day, I’m heading to Moree, and I like the look of Flying Celica. She’s another who’s been there or thereabouts so far this prep without breaking through for the win. Kody Nestor takes over in the saddle, and she steps down to non-metro grade for this one. Drawing wide is a slight query, but the $4.80 is too good to pass up.

Stats and Insights

  • So You Can Torque finished well back at Warwick last start, but comes from the Alyssa & Troy Sweeney stable. He could bounce back at decent odds in Race 5 at Kilcoy.
  • Wax On Wax Off finished a solid second at Rockhampton last start and now gets the blinkers on for the first time. He looks the runner to beat in Race 7 at Kilcoy.
  • Il Passero is coming off a strong win at Newcastle and draws the inside gate. He is the favourite and looks the one to beat in Race 7 at Hawkesbury.
