Quick Analysis:

Kicking today off in Warren, and I think I’ve found some value with River Rouge. He has been in some good form as of late, including a win at Narromine two runs back. The 4YO also has a recent placing at this track and at BM58 level. From barrier four, he looks like a pretty good chance, and the $5.50 we’re currently getting for him only adds to the appeal.

Quick Analysis:

Mr Tickles has a decent chance of taking this one out in my eyes. He is a last start winner, getting the chocolates at Cranbourne, which was also on a Heavy-rated track. His first-up run in this prep was a third placing, less than a length off the leader. Apprentice jockey Hayley Spitse is in the saddle once again, and she brings a 3kg weight relief with her as well.

Quick Analysis:

Ending the day in Taree for the last race, and I reckon Miss De Blaas looks over the odds. She won at this track and trip last time out by over 1L while going around at $11. We don’t get those odds this time out, but the $6.00 is still good, despite the wide barrier. She was close to getting the win at Coffs Harbour first-up as well, so I really can’t knock her form.

Stats and Insights

  • Underrated has been racing consistently at Rockhampton this preparation and was only narrowly denied last start. He looks the runner to beat in Race 5 at Rockhampton.
  • Silver Pledge went within a whisker of victory at Wangaratta last start and should strip fitter again. He looks capable of going one better in Race 6 at Moe.
  • Hou Long Gwai returned with a strong first-up effort at Rockhampton and now drops back to non-metro company. He is good enough to upset the favourite in Race 7 at Rockhampton.
