Quick Analysis:

It’s a big field, but I only have eyes for Honey Perfume. With back-to-back placings so far this prep, I think she can go on with the job here and notch up her second career win. In both her runs in this prep, she has finished less than a length off the winner. She gets the blinkers on for the first time, and Zac Lloyd returns to the saddle.

We’re in Belmont now, and this one is a small field. The market doesn’t really seem to know what it's doing, with six of the seven runners listed at single-digit odds. New Target looks like the one to beat for me, though. She comes into this race in form, including back-to-back wins here at Belmont to kick off this prep. Last time out, she finished third by just 0.34L at Ascot.

Quick Analysis:

For my last best bet of the day, I’ll be on Normandy Lass. She’s the narrow favourite in this one and tackles this race second up. She finished her last prep with back-to-back wins at Geelong. The 4YO drops back to non-metro class after her narrow defeat first time out (by just 0.2L), and jockey Patrick Moloney steps into the saddle once again.

Stats and Insights

  • San Lucido was a winner when fresh at Darwin last start and comes from a strong camp. He looks a leading contender again in Race 3 at Darwin.
  • Winner Of Kowloon comes from a strong stable and should improve with fitness this prep. She looks well placed to strike at decent odds in Race 5 at Gosford.
  • Sailor’s Rum led all the way for a dominant win last start at Rockhampton on a soft track and has a strong record at Mackay. He looks the clear horse to beat in Race 7 at Mackay.
