Quick Analysis:

Think I’ve found a good one early in the day, so let’s get off to a good start! The old boy got a win at Warrnambool to end his last prep. We haven’t seen him since July, but has been at multiple trials and seems to be going pretty well. He’s been around the block and then some, but I reckon he has more than enough in the tank to get this one done.

Quick Analysis:

Switching over to Grafton now, and I’ll be on Prince Of Prophets in Race 6. He was carrying the top weight, but gets a 2kg relief thanks to apprentice jockey Grady Spokes in the saddle. He got the job done with Spokes on board last time out at Coffs Harbour at virtually the same distance. Draws a little wide, but he is clearly the class runner.

Quick Analysis:

Back to Hamilton for the last of the day, and there are a few live chances in this one, but it’s hard for me to go past Miss Trustful. She’s got two runs under her belt, including a second place last time out at Kilmore. Drawing barrier five is another plus in this big field, and she gets a little bit of weight off her back compared to last time out. A couple of good ticks. 

Stats and Insights

  • Archie Maximus placed last start at the Gold Coast and comes from the Matthew Dunn yard. He looks a leading chance to break through in Race 3 at Grafton.
  • The Kill Club resumes after a 16-week break and was narrowly beaten as a favourite last start at Terang. She looks primed to return with a win in Race 6 at Hamilton.
  • Pixie Hallow has a strong record at Grafton and draws the rails to get a perfect run. He looks well placed to run a big race at great odds in Race 8 at Grafton.
