Quick Analysis:

Sticking with the favourite here in Kilmore for Race 5. After putting in a pass mark performance the first time out, he has then produced back-to-back second placings. He gets the blinkers on for the first time in this one, and drawing barrier one will also help. With natural improvement, he is certainly the one they have to beat, and I’m expecting a great performance.

Switching over to Newcastle now, and I’ll be on Commanding Artist in Race 6. The gelding was narrowly beaten as the favourite last time out in Hawkesbury, by just 0.49L. I think it’s redemption time for the 4YO, who now has back-to-back second placings. He does draw wide, but has the speed to overcome that. Jay Ford sticks with him here as well.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Newcastle, and it’s hard for me to go past the favourite, Banjora. Not a lot of value for the gelding, but he does look very good. He kicked off this prep with back-to-back wins, then last time out, finished third in Gosford. Zac Lloyd, who was on board for those back-to-back wins, jumps back into the saddle. I expect he’ll be onto bigger and better things further into his career.

Stats and Insights

  • Lowlands just missed as favourite first-up at Townsville and draws to get a soft run. She looks ready to go on with it in Race 4 at Townsville.
  • Outsmarted chased strongly when resuming at Townsville and is typically very effective second-up. He looks set to go very close in Race 6 in Townsville.
  • Lunar Force was a winner first-up this prep and draws the inside gate. He looks the one to beat from the good barrier in Race 8 at Kilmore.
