Quick Analysis:

A couple of live chances in this one, but with the gun draw, it’s hard to go past Kirikan. The gelding has just one win to his name in 31 attempts, but he comes into this one with five placings in a row. This includes last time out when he was just 0.14L off the leader at Townsville. Ryan Wiggins has been on board for the last five runs and saddles up once again.

Quick Analysis:

Heading to Ipswich now, and I think that Click Click Boom can make a statement and beat the favourite in Race 5. We haven’t seen the gelding since September, and he’ll lug around the top weight. He did put in a couple of solid performances in his last prep and is a previous first-up winner as well. Draws barrier three, which should suit.

Quick Analysis:

Last but certainly not least, I’m heading to Hawkesbury for Race 6. I think Fiorsum Fred can get the job done and finally get over the line with a win this prep. He kicked off this prep with a hat-trick of third placings, and last time out finished fifth at this track, but just 0.71L off the leader. Drops back to 1,600m for this one, which seems to be a good choice, and will carry 3kg less.

Stats and Insights

  • Yolo was in the money last start, running second at Ballarat. She looks ready to challenge at the front of the field in Race 5 at Warrnambool.
  • Shaula ran two lengths back from the winner last start at Ascot and comes back to race in non-metro. He looks the one to beat in Race 6 at Albany.
  • Caleana won last start at Ballarat and, from a good stable, has solid claims. He should get the job done in Race 8 at Pakenham.
