Quick Analysis:

Starting today in Dubbo, the favourite looks too hard to hold out. I don’t usually like tipping maidens, but the stars seem to be aligning for Marinera. Only her second career run after finishing second at Mudgee last time out. She ended up running out of steam in the closing stages, but Izzy Neale sticks, and there should be natural improvement.

Quick Analysis:

My next best bet comes at Sale with Cavern. The gelding won on his first time of asking, but hasn’t managed to fire in his next two runs after stepping up to harder company. He has been back to the trials since, and drawing barrier four helps as well. This looks like an easier field, so I expect him to be right in the finish.

Quick Analysis:

For the last in Sale today, I’m sticking with the favourite, Cabriole. The $1.90 that’s currently on offer isn’t exactly value, but it’s hard for me to make a case for anyone else in the field. He broke his maiden last time out in Geelong, and what a win it was, by over 5L! He draws barrier three, and has enough power to overcome carrying 59kg on his back.

Stats and Insights

  • Crudo comes from a strong stable, and should improve with race experience. He looks a leading chance in Race 6 at Sapphire Coast.
  • Rainline led all the way to win fresh and has been very reliable as a favourite. She looks a major contender in Race 7 at Northam.
  • Anemacore has been in strong metro form this campaign and drops in grade. He could pop up there at double-digit odds in Race 7 at Rockhampton.
