It’s a big field, but I’m sticking with Fierceness in this one. He is a last start winner to break his maiden at Muswellbrook, and his first up run was decent enough as well, finishing third at Mudgee. The 3YO draws barrier three, which I think will be quite helpful in this field. He has enough class to overcome one of the heaviest weights.

We’re heading to Illawarra Grange now, and it’s a small field in Race 3. I like the look of Call Me Mojo to topple the favourite, Tequisoda, today. The gelding kicked off this prep in the best way possible, winning by 1.33L in Canberra. Jockey Alysha Collett, who was on board for that maiden win, saddles up once again, and barrier three looks good as well.

It’s another massive field for Race 8 in Warrnambool, and I think I’ve found a great runner at each-way odds. I'mateez is currently offering value around the $7.00 mark, and I’ll be taking him for the outright win. With a career record of 6:2-2-1, the gelding has barely put a foot wrong, and last time out he won at Geelong, on a Soft-rated track.

Stats and Insights

  • Sujeed comes off back-to-back solid placings at this track and represents a strong stable. He looks tough to beat in Race 4 at Rockhampton.
  • Clubman should improve second-up and has performed well at this stage previously. He looks a key chance in Race 5 at Taree.
  • Inca Trail comes off a strong win and steps up to a suitable distance. He looks a leading chance in Race 8 at Rockhampton.
