Kicking today off in Muswellbrook with Antilopini, who comes into this one in great form and is looking for the hat-trick of wins. Her wins at Scone and Taree both came on Heavy tracks, and this one is currently rated in the Soft range. It could end up in the Heavy range again with more rain forecast. It’s a small field, but the filly will start from barrier two.

There are a few live chances in this one, but it’s hard for me to go past Gazelle, who does present a bit of value around the $4.40 mark. The 3YO was racing at Murray Bridge last time out and finished fourth, just 0.47L off the pace. The drop back down to non-metro grade put her in a prime position to take this one out, in my opinion, especially with a 2kg weight relief.

From barrier one, my money’s on Bark to get the win here at Ballarat Synthetic, and the $4.00 we’re currently getting for him seems overs. He couldn’t get the job done last time out at this track and trip, but the 4YO has only recently changed stables, so expect sharp improvement from him here. Just needs a smidge of luck, with the right breaks at the right time.

  • Supido Star broke through with an impressive maiden win at Tamworth and looks capable of taking the next step. She can make it back-to-back victories in Race 7 at Muswellbrook.
