I’ve got a lot of confidence in Baby Ryan for this one at Coffs Harbour. He comes into this one in some form after winning here last time out in a BM82. He sticks with another BM82 today, and with Grady Spokes onboard, he gets a 2kg weight relief. The gelding has won three of his five starts here. Hard to see anyone else from this field beating him.

Heading over to Canberra now, and I’ll be sticking with the favourite, Pure Melody, in Race 4. It’s a small field, and the filly has been a bit hit and miss so far this prep, but has two recent placings at this track. She’s building a nice career so far, with a record of 8:1-3-2, and while the $1.95 on offer is a tad short, I think she’ll notch up her second win today.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Canberra now for the last of the day, I like the look of Teylu, which still presents a bit of value, and I think he can topple the favourite. The consistency of Teylu is what really stands out, and the gelding has a career record of 15:5-7-2. He has been incredibly unlucky in his last two runs, finishing second both times (going down by 0.09L and 0.21L). It won’t be long until he’s back in the winner's stall.

Stats and Insights

  • A Diva has metro form this prep and has a win at Cranbourne. She looks the major contender in Race 5 at Pakenham.
  • Coppabella Road was only narrowly beaten last start and has good form at the track this prep. He looks the marginal top pick in Race 6 at Townsville.
  • Killiana went close as the favourite when resuming and has the speed to offset the wide draw. She looks the one to beat in Race 8 at Pakenham.
