Quick Analysis:

Starting the day in Hobart, and I think Reservoir Dog can get the job done in Race 5. He gets no favours with the wide draw, but has been close so far this prep. After missing the start in Launceston last time out, he ended up finishing just 0.75L off the leader in second. That one was on a Soft-rated track, and it looks like we’re getting more of the same here.

Quick Analysis:

There’s a bit of value to be had with Echelon, and he is getting very close to a win. He is building into his prep nicely and has back-to-back second placings at Scone and Muswellbrook. With just 900m to play with, I suspect jockey Luke Rolls will try to push forward to get in a good position from barrier eight. This also looks to be a Soft-rated track, where he has a record of 8:1-2-1.

Quick Analysis:

To wrap the day up, I’m heading to Gundagai, where I’ll be on Treasure Hunter. It’s a big field, and he draws relatively well. He didn’t fire first-up, fading late, but should be fitter for that run under his belt at Sapphire Coast. Steps up to 1,400m here, so that’s a small query, but he has already raced at this track, so at least he has some sort of experience.

Stats and Insights

  • Pride Of Venus is in top form with two wins from three starts this prep. She looks a major player again in Race 5 at Rockhampton.
  • Naturally Lit impressed with a first-up win at Sunshine Coast to break his maiden. He looks well placed to go on with it in Race 6 at Sunshine Coast.
  • Foujita San has been competitive at metro level this prep and now drops in grade. He looks well placed to run a big race in Race 7 at Terang.
