Quick Analysis:

Kicking the day off in Doomben with Good Banter. It’s a small field, and pretty much every runner is given some hope for this one. The mare honestly hasn’t done much as of late, but she’s been a tad unlucky in my eyes, so I’m willing to give her another chance. She’ll carry just 53kg on her back and is competing at a more suitable level.

For today at Sandown, I like the look of Persian Caviar in Race 4. As the daughter of Black Caviar, she’s got a bit of pedigree about her as well. She’s only just started her career, and currently has a record of 3:1-1-1. Her first up run was decent enough, and I’m expecting natural improvement with her second up here. Draws well and gets a 2kg weight relief thanks to apprentice jockey Holly Nottle.

Wrapping my best bets for today up in Warwick Farm with Surf’s Up. She comes into this one as the favourite, and it’s easy to see why. She really enjoys the Warwick Farm track, with a win and two seconds under her belt already in her short career. The mare is tackling this one second up, and the mighty JMac sticks with her again. She’ll be too difficult to hold out.

Stats and Insights

  • Swycho drops back to non-metro grade and comes from a strong stable. She looks well placed to take this out in Race 6 at Balaklava.
  • Jett Smash is chasing four straight wins after his latest success at Pakenham. He looks excellent value going around at almost double-digit odds in Race 7 at Sandown.
  • Kinross Lane hit the line strongly when resuming at Doomben and now draws the rails. She looks primed to get the job done in Race 9 at Doomben.
