Quick Analysis:

Not a massive fan of the wide barrier Currumbin Alley has drawn, but the gelding did lead all the way last time out, so he is coming into this one in form. The win came on a Soft-rated track, which is what we get here at Tamworth today. He does have a lot of experience on Soft tracks as well, with a career record of 4:2-1-0. He can get back-to-back wins here.

Nowra - Race 6, 5:40 PM

Top Pick:

1. Dubbo Boy

Quick Analysis:

Going against the favourite here, and I’m sticking with Dubbo Boy, who certainly presents more value in my eyes. The gelding got the win last time out at Warren in a BM58 as a $10 chance. This one is also a BM58, and Dale Cole steps into the saddle, bringing a 2kg weight relief with him. The barrier draw isn’t the worst as well; he just needs a smidge of luck.

Quick Analysis:

Hoping to end the day on a winning note with some value in my final best bet. Mafee is deep into his prep and has been racing well without breaking through for a win. This includes last time out at Geelong, where he finished second by just 0.3L, and there was a 4.05L gap to third. Zac Spain was on board last time out and retains the ride as well. They have a great chance of going one better here.

Stats and Insights

  • Outback Bandit has been ultra-consistent, narrowly missing as the slight favourite last start. He looks the one to beat in Race 4 at Longreach.
  • Sharp Dazzler drops back to a more suitable distance after a solid placing at Tambo. He looks too good to hold out in Race 6 at Longreach.
  • Lightning Speed has been racing consistently this prep and placed again at Canberra Acton last start. She can make her presence felt in Race 7 at Nowra.
