My first best bet comes today at Wodonga, and it’s difficult to go past the favourite. Olatunde has been competing in some tough races recently, but is still putting in decent performances. He ran strongly in the Albury Guineas (BM74), and he now drops back to a BM62. He should prove too good to hold out in this one.

Quick Analysis:

Next up is Flash Of Dallas, who I think still presents a smidge of value in what looks to be quite an open field. The mare is in winning form at the moment, taking out a BM56 in Echuca last race. This is an increase in grade (BM62), but you can’t knock her current form. She has placed a Group 3 level as well, so this race certainly isn’t beyond her.

Quick Analysis:

My final best bet comes in the final race of the day at Muswellbrook. At $5.50, Villa Castina also has some value about her. She finished third in Gosford last time out, and I think she can build on that run, coming into this one third up. Comes from the Annabel and Rob Archibald camp and gets a 2kg weight relief thanks to apprentice jockey, Olivia Dalton.

Stats and Insights

  • Billabong resumes from a solid stable and is expected to improve sharply off the first-up run. She can get the better of the favourite in Race 5 at Muswellbrook.
  • Saratoga Power has a strong record at Muswellbrook and comes into this one in some form. He looks a leading chance with decent odds in Race 6 at Muswellbrook.
  • Moonlight Dream comes into this chasing a hat-trick after back-to-back wins at Wagga. She looks a strong chance to keep the streak going in Race 8 at Wodonga.
