Quick Analysis:

The highest rated runner in the race, Hello Captain, is the favourite and draws barrier one. He has a lot of class, and if he gets a clean run, you can expect him to nail down the hat-trick of wins. He has won at both Warwick Farm and Canterbury in his first two runs this prep. This is a jump up to a BM72, but he should have more than enough in the tank to get the job done.

Quick Analysis:

Prestar draws wide for this one, but I liked what he did as the favourite last time out, running second, but had to lug around the top weight, which I think was too much for him. He gets back down to 54kg for this one, and Harry Coffey, who was on board last time out, retains the ride. The tongue tie goes on for the first time today as well. Just needs a smidge of luck from the draw.

Kembla Grange - Race 8, 6:05 PM

Top Pick:

5. Diacon

Best Odds Available:

NZ$7.00 with 22Bet

Quick Analysis:

Taking a chance on Diacon in the last today at Kembla Grange. I think the filly presents great value, currently sitting around the $7.00 mark. Diacon was flying late after a slow-ish start and ended up only 2.61L off the pace in third. An almost identical thing happened in her first run this prep as well. Keagan Latham takes over in the saddle, and this one is a Class 1.

Stats and Insights

  • Spicy Thang resumed with a strong win at Belmont and draws perfectly to control the race from the inside gate. She looks like the one they have to catch in Race 6 at Belmont.
  • Kaluakoi has put together a strong campaign with two metropolitan wins and remains highly competitive in this grade. He looks capable of taking out Race 7 at Ipswich.
  • Mongolian Gobi was dominant at Pakenham last start and returns to city grade with plenty of confidence. He looks well placed to go back-to-back in Race 9 at Morphettville.
