Quick Analysis:

Kicking the day off early in Coffs Harbour with Sunvolt in Race 2. The gelding has been racing very well so far in his short career, and I think he is overdue to break through for his first win. Two of his career runs have come here at Coffs Harbour, and while the barrier draw does him no favours, he is still good enough to get the job done.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Coffs Harbour for my second tip of the day. Dubalene comes into this race in some good form, winning in Port Macquarie to kick off her campaign. Her next two runs resulted in a second and third placing. The market is fairly open, so we’re getting a decent enough price for her as well. Luke Rolls has been with her for the entire prep, and he sticks again.

Quick Analysis:

Going against the favourite here with Nirmata, and I think the gelding presents more value around the $3.60 price. The gelding has spent his last two races here at Tamworth, including a win last time out, over the same trip he lines up for today. Gets a 2kg weight relief with Jacob Stiff on his back, and he’s good enough to offset drawing barrier nine.

Stats and Insights

  • Smart Mission went close as a heavily backed favourite last start and has already won this prep. He looks ideally placed to go one better in Race 4 at Rockhampton.
  • Sketch returned with a solid placing and comes from a strong stable. She should be right in the finish in Race 6 at Cranbourne.
  • Outback Bandit comes off a strong win at Longreach and looks well placed to go on with it. He is a leading contender in Race 7 at Rockhampton.
