Quick Analysis:

We start today in Rosehill, and I think Aye Aye Captain is good enough to topple the favourite in this small field. The mare has a win and a second placing this prep, so she comes into this one in some good form. She finished midfield last time out, but I think the Heavy conditions didn’t really help. It’s currently rated a Soft5 at Rosehill, and from barrier three, she can pop up there.

Heading over to Flemington now, and I’ve got my eye on the favourite, Touchdown. The gelding kicked off his prep last time out, which resulted in a second placing at Sandown Hillside. That run was impressive, and I think he’ll be able to go one better this time out, especially with fitness on his side. He does draw wide, but can use his class to get the job done.

Quick Analysis:

Ending the day last in Doomben with Zoubaby. The mare gets in light at the weights, and has had a bit of success here at this track, including last time out, winning by about 1L. She draws well enough, and Ben Thompson steps into the saddle. There’s a lot to like, and she looks overs, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see her shorten as we get closer to race time.

Stats and Insights

  • They'reallsisters resumed with an impressive win at Belmont and has finished in the placings at every career start. She can keep her unbeaten place record intact in Race 5 at Belmont.
  • Vorkuta has been racing consistently this preparation and followed another win with a solid placing at Ipswich. He can continue his strong form in Race 7 at the Gold Coast.
  • Power Dancer has been racing consistently in metro company and was only narrowly denied at Morphettville Parks last start. He can go one better in Race 8 at Morphettville Parks.
