Quick Analysis:

I think there’s plenty of value around La Roux early in the day at Morphettville. The filly is already a winner this prep, but didn’t fire last time out at this track. That was in a BM72, and she drops back to a BM64 for this one, and she’s had a tick over trial since her last run (also at Morphettville). This is still a competitive field, but one I think she’ll overcome.

Heading over to Flemington now with Shockletz. The 4YO gets the gun draw, and she has already won here at Flemington. She also has a decent record on Soft-rated tracks (6:3-1-0). She tackles this one third-up, and she’s in the past when third-up. Gets a 1.5kg weight relief as well, thanks to apprentice jockey Logan Bates.

Quick Analysis:

My final best bet comes in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks, and I’m sticking with the favourite, Panova. The filly is coming off an Australasian Oaks win at Morphettville in April, and has been performing well enough in Group 1 races previously. Draws barrier six, which isn’t too bad, and the set weights conditions work in her favour. There’s a lot to like.

Stats and Insights

  • Prima Bella won first-up at Randwick and comes from a powerful stable. She shouldn't be overlooked despite the rise in class in Race 6 at Randwick.
  • Glastonbury Girl has been consistent this prep with two placings from three starts. She looks the one they all have to catch in Race 6 at Newcastle.
  • Heavenly Impact won at the Gold Coast two starts ago and continues to race consistently. He looks the one to beat in Race 7 at the Gold Coast.
