Quick Analysis:

Sticking with the favourite for my first best bet of the day with I Am Steffi. You can’t knock the recent form this mare is in. She’s going for the hat-trick of wins today after breaking her maiden at Grafton and then winning last time out at Port Macquarie. That win last time out was also on a Soft-rated track, but she draws a lot better this time out (barrier one).

Quick Analysis:

Heading to Gunnedah now, and I think Live To Rise is good enough to pop up there, but I’ll be playing it safe, taking the mare to finish top three in this big field. She’s fairly deep into her prep, but did kick things off right here at Gunnedah with a second placing, just 0.21L off the leader. Gunnedah is her home turf, so while barrier nine isn’t the greatest, she’s still capable.

Quick Analysis:

Wrapping the day off late at Geelong with Omnic. The gelding has been in blistering form as of late, including two wins, two second placings, and a third placing in his last five runs. It’s a reasonably sized field, with plenty of runners, and Omnic presents good each-way value at the time of writing. This one looks like a Heavy-rated track, where he has a record of 4:1-2-0.

Stats and Insights

  • Mashean broke her maiden with a strong win at Warwick and should benefit from that experience. She can make a bright start to her next run in Race 4 at Ipswich.
  • Forgotten Spirit came very close first-up at Eagle Farm and now drops back to non-metro company. She’s the deserved heavy favourite in Race 7 at Ipswich.
  • Sinfull arrives off a win at Grafton two runs back and has also placed once this campaign. She can continue this upward trend in Race 8 at Taree.
