Quick Analysis:

I reckon Star Whisperer is good enough to overcome the even-money favourite in Race 3 here at Gunnedah. The gelding was dominant first-up at Muswellbrook, winning by over 2L. He’ll be fitter for that run under his belt as well, and it’s a small-ish field, which should work in his favour. He has also won twice from just five career attempts.

Quick Analysis:

Switching over to Wagga now, and I’ve got my eye on Taluk. She doesn’t get any favours from the barrier draw, but she’ll probably end up settling near the back of the pack anyway. The $3.60 that’s currently on offer is still decent enough value, but she’ll need a smidge of luck in the closing stages to weave through the field. She has back-to-back placings here at Wagga in her last two outings.

Quick Analysis:

I’m at Pakenham Synthetic for my final best bet of the day, and it’s hard for me to go past Baltic Blizzard. The filly gets a decent weight advantage over some of her biggest rivals, and she draws well (barrier two). Her prep has been spaced out nicely, and she comes into this on fourth-up after winning to kick off this prep. This looks like a much easier assignment than her last two runs as well.

Stats and Insights

  • Testator Silens has been racing consistently this preparation and went close again with a narrow second at Ilfracombe. He looks capable of proving too strong in Race 3 at Blackall.
  • Dupli Kate drops back to non-metropolitan company and looks well placed to capitalise on the class relief. She shapes as the runner to beat in Race 6 at Gundagai.
  • Eastcoast Hussler charged home to win impressively at Ilfracombe and looks capable of carrying that form forward. He shapes as the runner to beat in Race 7 at Blackall.
