There are a couple of live chances in this one, but it’s hard for me to go past Meisho. She kicked off her prep with a second placing, and then last time out, faded to finish fourth. That one was on a Heavy8 track, and her first go on Heavy-rated ground. She’ll be fitter for that run under her belt, and she gets a 3kg weight relief as well, thanks to Olivia East.

Heading to Taree now, and this card looks to be run on a Heavy-rated track. I think Dingle Grey can get the chocolates here. The filly has been in good form this prep, including a win last time out at Quirindi on a Soft-rated track. We haven’t seen her on a Heavy track, but she’s two from two on a Soft. Luke Rolls sticks as well from the last race.

Quick Analysis:

Switching back to Mornington for my final best bet of the day, and Up An Under presents a smidge of value in my eyes. The gelding hasn’t really fired so far this prep, but he does have a run at this track under his belt. The step up to 2,050m should suit, and Dylan Dean has ridden Up And Under before. From barrier three, the pair can get the win.

Stats and Insights

  • Roweiner’s Dance has an excellent record at Townsville and has already won four races this campaign. He looks one of the main contenders in Race 5 at Townsville.
  • Irresistible Force has been racing consistently this preparation with two placings from four starts. He can pop up there at decent odds in Race 7 at Townsville.
  • Come On Glamour resumes after a short spell and is chasing a hat-trick after consecutive wins at Coffs Harbour. She commands plenty of respect in Race 8 at Taree.
