Quick Analysis:

My first best bet of the day comes at the Kensington track with Champagne Hero. The gelding comes into this one third-up and should be at peak fitness now. Last time out, he finished second by just 0.17L at Warwick Farm. This is a classy racehorse, and he has been competing in tougher races than this. From barrier one, he should be too hard to hold out.

Quick Analysis:

I can’t really see any other runner toppling the favourite, Missapprehend, here. She’s another that comes into this one third up, and has been there or thereabouts so far this prep without gracing the winner’s stall. She is one from one in third-up attempts and Jabez Johnstone sticks with the 3YO, bringing a 2kg weight relief as well. The barrier draw isn’t the worst either.

Finishing up today in Belmont with Mai Aloha. The 4YO went down as the favourite last time out at this track and trip, finishing just 0.68L off the leader in second. That makes it a hat-trick of second placings in her last three runs, all by less than a length and at this track/ trip. She draws better than she has in her previous three runs, William Pike sticks, and now is her time to shine.

Stats and Insights

  • Natoya has been racing consistently in metro company this prep and should appreciate this assignment after a solid last-start effort. She looks ready to run another big race in Race 5 at Eagle Farm.
  • Crusader Voyage is chasing another win after an impressive Doomben success and has put together a strong metro campaign. He can make it three wins for the prep in Race 7 at Eagle Farm.
  • Wallenda made a winning start to the preparation at metro level and wasn't far away against stronger company last time out. He can return to the winner's list in Race 7 at Darwin.
