Quick Analysis:

Virtually every runner in this field has been given a chance, according to the odds. But I do like the look of Abandonment, who has come across the ditch from New Zealand to Australia. He had a win and two placings in New Zealand, and since then, had three trials in Australia. The 4YO tackles this one first-up and books the services of Tommy Berry. A strong chance.

Quick Analysis:

Heading to Ipswich now, and it’s hard for me to go past the favourite, Zoustrology. There isn’t exactly a lot of value around 3YO, but with only seven runners in the field, he should get the better of them. Boasting back-to-back wins here at Ipswich, it’s easy to see why he’s the favourite. Ben Thompson steps back into the saddle again as well.

Quick Analysis:

Wrapping the day up in Geelong, where I think I’ve found a smidge of value with Baywatch, who is currently going around at the $4.20 mark. The mare carries the second-lightest weight in the race, and from barrier six, Luke Currie should be good enough to get the job done. She hasn’t done a lot this prep, but has been improving with each run, and she tackles this one third-up.

Stats and Insights

  • Mr Avery made a winning start to the prep and has since had the benefit of a recent trial. He looks a major player in Race 4 at Wagga.
  • Awesome Force resumes from a lengthy spell but has been kept up to the mark with recent trial work. He rates as a great chance in Race 6 at Pinjarra Scarpside.
  • The Shaper comes into this race off a recent trial victory and has been given time to freshen up. He looks one of the runners to beat in Race 7 at Wagga.
