Quick Analysis:

Automne Tree has been firing on all cylinders so far this prep, and I think the gelding can add another win today at Eagle Farm. His three most recent runs include a second placing (by 0.59L), and back-to-back wins at Doomben. He drops back to a BM78 here, so should theoretically find this one easier. Ryan Maloney retains the ride, and the barrier draw isn’t the worst either.

Quick Analysis:

Going against the favourite in the Group 2 Missile Stakes with Ninja. The gelding tackles this one first-up after back-to-back recent trials here at Randwick. The 4YO looks like he has speed to burn, so the wide draw isn’t of any concern, especially in this small field. He is already a Group 2 winner, and regular rider Tommy Berry steps into the saddle once again.

Quick Analysis:

While the $1.70 that’s currently being offered for Changing Colours isn’t anything to write home about, I can’t see anyone else challenging the mare. This is certainly one for the wider exotics or as an anchor in your multi for the day. She won by 2L last time out at Flemington and steps up to a BM84 with a favourable draw to boot. She’s fairly reliable as the favourite as well, with a record of 8:3-4-0.

Stats and Insights

  • Mt Shirataku has been racing in excellent form at Belmont and looks well placed back at this level. He can continue his strong campaign in Race 5 at Belmont.
  • Grand Carousel has been racing consistently this prep and looks ready to break through after another placing. She can get the chocolates in Race 5 at Kembla Grange.
  • Light The Night resumes in winning trial form and looks primed to fire fresh. He can make a winning return at almost double-digit odds in Race 6 at Morphettville.
