Quick Analysis:

Starting the day in Muswellbrook, and I’m going against the favourite here as Hinune just has too much value in my eyes. The mare finished second here at this track and trip last time out, which was also at BM66 level. The key difference for this race is that we’re looking at a Soft-rated track, where she has more success (4:2-0-1). Adam Farragher sticks, and being wide may be the place to be late in the day.

Quick Analysis:

Next up, we have Princeofnottingham at Ballarat Synthetic. The top-rated runner and current favourite does get a 2kg weight relief thanks to apprentice jockey Nadia Daniels. The gelding has also had success here at Ballarat Synthetic in the past, including a recent win in late June. Drawing barrier two is another tick, and it’s easy to see why the old boy is the favourite.

Wagga - Race 7, 7:05 PM

Quick Analysis:

I’m in Wagga for my final best bet of the day, and I’m taking a punt on Hot Toddy, who is another that presents some value in my eyes, at each-way odds (at the time of writing). The gelding is coming off back-to-back wins here at Wagga, both on Heavy-rated tracks. This one is currently rated in the Soft region, but with rain around, it could be yet another Heavy track. Jeff Penza sticks from last time out, and they draw barrier one.

Stats and Insights

  • Five Down wasn't disgraced last start at Kalgoorlie and looks suited by the step up in distance. He can handle the rise in trip in Race 4 at Kalgoorlie.
  • Makamae backs up after seven days and has already shown winning form this preparation. She can handle the quick turnaround in Race 4 at the Sunshine Coast.
  • Digari has been consistent this prep and is another that should appreciate the step up in distance. He can be a strong finisher in Race 7 at Casterton.
