Quick Analysis:

Houlihan couldn’t get the job done as the favourite last time out at this track, but she gets a prime opportunity to redeem herself here. She has success here at Devonport Synthetic, breaking her maiden two runs back in late May. Regular rider, Chloe Wells, saddles up once again, and they get a decent weight advantage over some of their toughest competition.

Quick Analysis:

Heading over to the Sunshine Coast for this one, and it’s hard to go past the favourite, Summit. He hasn’t graced the winner’s circle in a while, but I think he’s been a tad unlucky. He’s got two recent fourth placings, both by less than 1L. Ryan Maloney, who was on board last time out in that decent run, retains the ride. A smidge of luck and he’ll be winning this one easily.

I’m in Grafton for my final best bet of the day, and Mr Chaplin looks too hard to hold out in my eyes. The gelding won on his Australian debut at Randwick, and then backed that up with a third placing at Rosehill last time out, by 0.76L. The 4YO did draw wide, but there have already been eight scratchings, so that’ll move him in a bit. With only 54kg on his back, he should be getting the chocolates.

  • Jayashree comes off a last-start victory at Kalgoorlie and has won two of four starts this preparation. She looks well placed to continue her strong form in Race 6 at Kalgoorlie.
  • Zorro's Flight comes off a strong win at Sale and is expected to strip fitter this time out. He looks well placed to go back-to-back in Race 6 at Ballarat.
  • Valley Prince was narrowly denied last start at Alice Springs and looks ready to go one better. He shapes as the runner to beat in Race 8 at Alice Springs.
