This one is a big field, and Miss Trump draws wide, but the way she was able to break her maiden last time out at Port Macquarie really caught my eye. The Paul Snowden-trained filly got the job done on a soft track, and it’s looking like more of the same again today. Ben Looker, who was on board for the maiden win, sticks once again. She also gets a decent enough weight advantage over some of her biggest rivals.

Heading to Pakenham Synthetic now and Flying Mean presents good value in my opinion, but I’m going to play it safe and take the gelding to finish in the top three. He was in the money last time out at Sale in a BM62. He drops down to a BM58 this time out and has already placed at this track/ trip this prep (finishing second, just 0.75L off the leader).

In the final race of the day at Pakenham Synthetic, I’ve got my eye on an each-way play with Hot Too Go. The 5YO’s campaign has been spaced out nicely, and he comes into this one fourth up. He produced a great run two goes back at Morphettville Parks, finishing only 0.09L off the leader in second place from barrier five. If he can produce a similar run, he’ll be in this up to his eyeballs.

  • Bold Print dominated at Pakenham Synthetic last start and boasts an excellent record at the track. He can use the inside draw to continue his strong form in Race 6 at Pakenham Synthetic.
  • Damascus Gate was only 0.66L off the winner at Gunnedah last time out and represents the Carlos Antonio stable. He can turn that narrow defeat into a better result in Race 6 at Tuncurry.
  • House Of Cards arrives off a win at Casino and should appreciate returning to non-metro company. He can carry that winning momentum into Race 7 at Tuncurry.
